Takeda Station is a unique joint operation between the private Kintetsu Railway and the Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau. While legally under the jurisdiction of the Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau, both operators serve the station. It is Kintetsu station number B05 on the Kyoto Line, offering connections towards Kyoto, Yamato-Saidaiji, and beyond. For the Kyoto Municipal Subway, it is station number K15 on the Karasuma Line, serving as a terminus and connecting to Kuinabashi (K14) towards Kokusaikaikan.
Station History
Opened on November 15, 1928, Takeda Station has a rich history of serving Kyoto's commuters and visitors. It has undergone several name changes throughout its existence, initially known as Jōnangū-mae until 1940, and later as Naraden Takeda until 1963, before finally settling on its current name. This evolution reflects the changing landscape and development of the surrounding area.
