The station is operated by the private railway company Keihan Electric Railway and is a stop on the Keihan Main Line (KH16). Station History
Kayashima Station officially opened its doors on April 15, 1910. Its most remarkable feature is a large, sacred camphor tree, estimated to be around 700 years old, growing directly in the middle of the station structure. This tree is deeply revered by local people and even has a small Shinto shrine at its base. The station was intentionally built around this ancient natural monument, making it a truly unique landmark. It was also selected as one of the '100 Stations of Kinki' in the second round of selections.
