Izu-Nagaoka Station, despite its name, is located in the former town of Nirayama, within the city of Izunokuni, Shizuoka Prefecture. It serves as a crucial gateway to the popular Izu-Nagaoka Onsen (hot spring) resort area, with the entrance to the former Izu-Nagaoka town just a short walk across the blue Chitose Bridge from the station's front intersection. Station History
Originally opened on May 20, 1898, the station was known as Nanjō Station until 1919. Its long history reflects the development of the region and its growing importance as a transportation hub. The station's code is IS09, and in fiscal year 2017, it recorded an average of 2,444 daily passengers, highlighting its continued relevance.
