Location & Access
Inaei Station (稲永駅) is situated in Inaei 1-chome, Minato Ward, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. It serves as a key access point for residents and visitors to this part of Nagoya. The station is part of the Aonami Line, which provides convenient transportation within the city.
Railway Lines
Inaei Station is served by the Aonami Line, officially known as the Nishi-Nagoyakō Line (West Nagoya Port Line). This commuter railway line is operated by the Nagoya Rinkai Rapid Transit and connects Nagoya Station with Kinjō-futō Station. The Aonami Line is particularly notable for providing rapid transit access to popular attractions like Legoland Japan Resort and SCMaglev and Railway Park, both located near the line's terminus.
Station History
While the Aonami Line began passenger operations in October 2004, its roots go back further. The line was originally a freight branch line of the Tokaido Main Line, opened as the Nishi-Nagoyakō Line on June 1, 1950. Even today, the section between Nagoya and Arako Station, which includes Inaei, is used for both passenger and freight traffic, with freight operations handled by the Japan Freight Railway Company.
Travel Tips
When traveling to Inaei Station, remember that it's part of the Aonami Line, known for its distinctive name, a combination of 'ao' (blue), 'na' for Nagoya, and 'mi' for Minato ward, which can also be interpreted as 'blue waves'. With its connection to major attractions, Inaei Station can be a useful stop for tourists exploring Nagoya's entertainment options.
