Location & Access
Yagi-nishiguchi Station is situated in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, Japan, serving the local community. Despite its small size, it holds a distinctive position within the Kintetsu Railway network. The station is notable for its close proximity to Yamato-Yagi Station, a major intersection and transport hub, located approximately 300 meters to the north. This unique arrangement means Yagi-nishiguchi effectively operates as an extension of its larger neighbor, offering convenient access to a broader range of services and connections.
Railway Lines
The station is exclusively served by the Kintetsu Kashihara Line, identified by the station code B40. It features two side platforms and two tracks, facilitating local services. Travelers can connect to destinations like Kyoto, Shin-Tanabe, Yamato-Saidaiji via Yamato-Yagi, or head towards Kashiharajingu-mae. While it's a local stop, its connection to Yamato-Yagi significantly enhances its utility for commuters and visitors alike.
Station History
Yagi-nishiguchi Station has a history dating back to March 21, 1923, when it first opened. Over the years, it underwent a couple of name changes, initially known as Yagi until 1928, and then Daiki Yagi from 1928 to 1929, before settling on its current name. Its historical development is intertwined with the growth of the Kintetsu Kashihara Line and the surrounding area.
Travel Tips
For travelers, Yagi-nishiguchi Station offers accessibility with two elevators for the ticket gate and two for each platform, making it convenient for those with luggage or mobility needs. While there is no dedicated parking, bicycle facilities are available. Given its status as a non-independent station of Yamato-Yagi, passengers should be aware that many services and connections will be found at the larger station just a short walk away.
