Station History
Toritsudaigaku Station has a rich history, having first opened its doors on August 28, 1927, under the name Kakinokizaka Station. It adopted its current name, Toritsudaigaku Station, in 1952. Interestingly, while the station's name translates to "Tokyo Metropolitan University," it is no longer the closest station to the university of the same name, a detail it shares with its neighboring Gakugei-daigaku Station.
