The easiest way to watch the crossing from above is to go up to the second floor of the Starbucks.

You can take a photo on the escalator inside a space that looks like a huge crystal, and then go up to the green roof. From there you have a view of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku.

The Shibuya Sky observation deck sits 229 meters high and offers panoramic views over Tokyo, including Tokyo Tower, the metropolitan government building and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. The deck has two levels: indoor and outdoor. In rain or strong wind the outdoor level is closed, but you can opt for a refund and cancel your visit. Book tickets well in advance, especially for sunset hours. Price: 2500 yen.

Fans of Japanese pop culture should visit the Shibuya Parco shopping center, which houses stores dedicated to iconic franchises: Pokemon Center, Nintendo, Capcom and Shonen Jump.

Yoyogi Park is one of Tokyo’s popular recreational areas; in spring the park becomes a popular spot for hanami — viewing cherry blossoms. To vary your walk, you can rent a bicycle for 210 yen per hour and ride along the cycle path.

Shibuya is one of Tokyo's most recognizable and busiest neighborhoods. Its atmosphere is epitomized by the legendary Scramble Crossing, one of the city's icons. The traffic signal turns green in all directions at once and thousands of pedestrians surge across the intersection while dozens of tourists photograph the scene. It's not the only diagonal crossing in Japan, but here the organized chaos of the capital is especially palpable.
