Soga Station is strategically located in Chūō-ku, Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, making it a vital transportation hub for the region. Operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), it offers convenient access to various parts of Chiba and beyond. The station is also a significant freight depot, serving both the Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight) and the all-freight Keiyō Rinkai Railway Company.

Soga Station is a bustling terminal, with three major JR East lines converging here: the Uchibō Line, Sotobō Line, and Keiyō Line. It acts as a crucial junction for journeys towards the Minami-Bōsō area. The Uchibō Line originates at Soga, while the Keiyō Line and Keiyō Rinkai Railway Rinkai Main Line consider Soga as both their starting and ending point. Despite its importance, Soga Station is notably one of the few stations on the Keiyō Line without a station numbering system.
Station History
Opened on January 20, 1896, Soga Station boasts a long history of serving the Chiba region. Over its more than 125 years of operation, it has evolved into a modern, staffed station equipped with a Midori no Madoguchi (ticket office) and handling a substantial passenger volume, with over 34,000 daily users recorded in FY2019.
