Anmitsu Mihashi is a historic Japanese confectionery founded in 1948, located just a 3‑minute walk from JR Ueno Station. The well‑loved shop specializes in traditional Japanese sweets, especially its signature anmitsu — a classic dessert of agar-agar jelly, sweet red bean paste and various toppings. The shop retains a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere and is known for high-quality ingredients, including Hokkaido red beans and Okinawan brown sugar syrup. The store is very popular and queues are common, but turnover is quick and wait times are usually reasonable. The menu features seasonal items year-round — from sakura-flavored anmitsu in spring to zenzai with chestnuts in autumn — and unique dishes such as oden available only at the main shop.

Ueno Park
Ueno Park · Парк Уэно · Парк Уэно
The Ueno area is primarily famous for its large eponymous park. The park's area is 530 square kilometers, and this entire territory used to belong to the Kan'ei-ji temple, which was important during the Edo period. During the overthrow of the shogunate the Battle of Ueno took place here (1868), and the temple grounds were reduced to ashes; later the park was laid out in Western style. A few buildings from the temple complex have survived: the Toshogu Shrine, the five-storied pagoda and the Kiyomizu Kannon-do pavilion.
