The station is part of the automated straddle-beam monorail system, the Disney Resort Line, which offers a convenient and scenic way to navigate the expansive resort area.
Railway Lines
The station is exclusively served by the Disney Resort Line, an Alweg-type monorail. This automated system, operated by Maihama Resort Line Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Oriental Land Company (OLC), features a single track spanning 5 km (3.1 mi) and connects four stations. The monorail operates on contact rails with 1,500 V DC electrification, reaching a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). All stations on the line, including Resort Gateway, are fully accessible, ensuring a smooth experience for all passengers.
Station History
Passenger service at Resort Gateway Station, along with the entire Disney Resort Line, commenced on July 27, 2001. This opening took place shortly before the grand opening of Tokyo DisneySea, highlighting the monorail's integral role in the resort's infrastructure from its early days. For over two decades, the station has been a vital part of the Tokyo Disney Resort experience, facilitating millions of visitor journeys.
