Station History

Originally opened on June 28, 1902, Ōtorii Station holds a rich history. Its name, "Ōtorii," meaning "large torii gate," originates from the grand torii gate of Anamori Inari Shrine that once stood in front of the station at the time of its opening. The station underwent a significant rebuild in 1997 to modernize its facilities and accommodate increasing passenger traffic. In fiscal year 2011, the station served an average of 27,342 daily passengers, highlighting its importance in the local transportation network.
