Location & Access
Kurihara Tamachi Station was situated in Kurihara, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. While the station itself is now closed, its former location provides a glimpse into the rural landscape of central Kurihara. The Kurihara Den'en Railway Line, often affectionately known as 'Kuriden', connected the area to Ishikoshi Station, which offered a connection to the Tōhoku Main Line, and extended westward to the inland Hosokura Mine Park Mae Station.

The station was an integral part of the Kurihara Den'en Railway Line. This 25.7 km (16.0 mi) narrow-gauge line (1,067 mm / 3 ft 6 in) played a crucial role in the region's history. Originally, the line was built to facilitate the transportation of ore from the Hosokura Mine in Uguisuzawa, which operated until 1988.
