Station History

The Kintetsu Nagoya Line, which Komeno Station is a part of, has a rich history dating back to its opening on September 10, 1915. The line underwent its last extension on June 26, 1938. Originally operating on a 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) narrow gauge, the line was converted to the current 1,435 mm (4 ft 8½ in) standard gauge by 1959, enhancing its operational capabilities. The line is double-tracked and electrified with 1,500 V DC overhead lines, supporting operating speeds of up to 120 km/h (75 mph).
