Station History

Kobayashi Station has a long history, having first opened its doors on October 1, 1912. It was originally known as Kobayashimachi Station until March 1, 1951, when it adopted its current name. The station underwent a significant rebuild in 2015, modernizing its facilities to better serve the community. In fiscal year 2016, the station recorded an average of 458 daily passengers, ranking 253rd among JR Kyushu stations.
