The station is a key stop on the JR West Hanwa Line (JR-R51). It is situated 53.3 km from Tennōji Station. This is the longest interval on the entire Hanwa Line, due to the train's journey over the Otoyama Pass in the Izumi Mountains, which form the border with Osaka Prefecture.
Station History
