Station History
Keikyū Kamata Station boasts a rich history, having first opened its doors on February 1, 1901. Over the years, it has undergone significant transformations, including major rebuilds in 1995 and 2012 to accommodate growing passenger numbers and modern infrastructure needs. The station has also seen its name change several times, from Kamata (1902–1925) to Keihin Kamata (1925–1987), before adopting its current name. In FY2017, it served an impressive 61,746 daily passengers.
