Kashiwadai Station officially opened its doors on August 19, 1975. Historically, it managed the section between Sagami-Ōtsuka and Kashiwadai as part of the Kashiwadai District. This administrative role has since transitioned, with the former Kashiwadai District now integrated into the Ebina District.
