Railway Lines
Kamonomiya Station is exclusively served by the Saitama New Urban Transit Ina Line, also known as the New Shuttle. This 12.7-kilometer (7.9 mi) line runs north from Ōmiya Station, alongside the Tohoku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen high-speed lines, extending through Ageo to Uchijuku Station. The New Shuttle is a manually driven, rubber-tyred people mover, offering a unique and efficient mode of transport. The line is double-tracked from Ōmiya to Maruyama Station and single-tracked from Maruyama to Uchijuku Station.
Station History
Kamonomiya Station, along with the entire Ina Line, officially opened on December 22, 1983, making it over 40 years old. The Saitama New Urban Transit Co., Ltd., which operates the line, is a third-sector railway company with major shareholders including East Japan Railway Company, Tobu Railway, local banks, the Saitama prefectural government, and the cities and towns it serves.
