Location & Access
Hoei Station was situated in the Misuhoe area of Shinhidaka, within the Hidaka Subprefecture of Hokkaido, Japan. As a rural station, it primarily served the local community. Unfortunately, due to its closure, there is no longer public access to train services at this location.
Railway Lines
The station was an integral part of the Hidaka Main Line, a railway operated by the Hokkaido Railway Company (JR Hokkaido). It was located 109.8 km from the line's starting point at Tomakomai. The Hidaka Main Line itself faced significant challenges, leading to the indefinite suspension of services on the 116 km section between Mukawa and Samani, which included Hoei Station.
Station History
Hoei Station first opened its doors to passengers on July 15, 1958. For decades, it served as a local transport hub. However, its operational life was cut short when services were indefinitely suspended in January 2015 due to severe storm damage. The station was formally closed on April 1, 2021, marking the end of its railway service.
