Location & Access
Chita-Okuda Station (知多奥田駅) is situated in Mihama Town, Chita District, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It serves as a vital transportation hub for the local community and visitors to the area. The station is particularly convenient for those heading to Nihon Fukushi University (Mihama Campus) and the popular Minamichita Beach Land, making it a gateway to both educational and leisure destinations.
Railway Lines
The station is exclusively served by the Meitetsu Chita New Line, owned and operated by the private railway company Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu). All trains, including limited express services, stop at Chita-Okuda Station, ensuring frequent and accessible connections. The Meitetsu Chita New Line itself is a single-tracked railway, stretching 13.9 km (8.64 miles) and connecting Taketoyo with Minamichita within Aichi Prefecture.
Station History
The Meitetsu Chita New Line, on which Chita-Okuda Station is located, was completed on June 5, 1980. Its construction was part of Meitetsu's broader efforts to develop the southern Chita Peninsula. Interestingly, the project faced challenges, including the discovery of a shell midden during its development. Despite the line's completion, residential development along its route was restricted due to Japanese land laws at the time.
