Station History
Chajo Station officially opened on June 2, 1914. Prior to its current name, it was known as Kamikawate Station until 1914. The station also has the Chajo Inspection Branch Office (茶所検車支区) attached to it, indicating its role beyond just passenger services. In fiscal year 2013, the station recorded an average daily ridership of 535 passengers.
