TACUBO Shirokanedai (TACUBO 白金台) offers a singular dining experience in a vast, subterranean space designed to feel like a cave. The room is dominated by a large, communal oval table and the scent of the open kitchen's wood fire, where chef Daisuke Takubo's team works with precision over live flame. This venue is a sibling to the original TACUBO, bringing its fire-focused Italian cuisine to a new, dramatic setting.

Guests consistently praise the cooking, especially two signature dishes: the cold Osetra caviar cappellini, served over smoked shrimp, and the yamayuki tuna tartare on wood-fired bruschetta. The fire-cooked mains, including duck, lamb, and local Shiina beef, are also highlights, alongside expertly made pastas like carbonara or those with crab and porcini. The wine list is noted as being strong and well-suited to the menu.

However, the experience is not without its faults. Several reviewers report uneven service, with some feeling rushed through their meal while others experienced long waits between courses. For the high price point, some found the portions to be small. Be aware that popular dishes, particularly the caviar cappellini, can sell out by the later seatings.

A meal here is a significant expense. Reviewers typically report spending ¥30,000–¥39,999 per person for dinner. Signature dishes are priced accordingly: the Osetra caviar cappellini was recently cited at around ¥12,000, the tuna tartare bruschetta at ¥3,200–¥3,400, and a Shiina beef main at ¥9,500. Expect a seat charge of ¥1,000 and a 10% service charge on the final bill. While not a place for casual value, most agree it's a worthy splurge for a special occasion.
