Yufuin Station (由布院駅) is strategically located in the Yufuin neighborhood of Yufu City, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. It serves as the primary transportation hub for the renowned Yufuin area, famous for its scenic beauty and hot springs, including Yufuin Onsen. The station is the busiest in Yufu City by passenger count, making it a vital point for both local residents and tourists.

The station is operated by JR Kyushu and is a crucial stop on the Kyūdai Main Line. All trains, including the popular limited express services "Yufu" and "Yufuin no Mori," stop at Yufuin Station. It also functions as an operational hub, with many trains, including some limited express services, beginning or ending their journeys here. The station features one side platform and one island platform, totaling three tracks, and is accessible.
Station History
Yufuin Station first opened its doors on July 29, 1925. Interestingly, it was known by the name Kita-Yufuin until 1950, when it adopted its current designation. With an average daily ridership of 1167 in FY2016, it ranked 144th among JR Kyushu stations, highlighting its importance to the region.
