Historically, Yoshii Station was a more significant railway junction; it was a stop for the express train "Hirado" and served as the branching point for the JNR Sechibaru Line. However, the Sechibaru Line was unfortunately abolished on December 26, 1971, marking a change in the station's operational scope.
