Station History

Yasu Station officially opened on July 1, 2002. Interestingly, a different Yasu Station, operated by the Tosa Electric Railway Aki Line, existed across the intersection until March 31, 1974, when that line was abolished. The current station is unstaffed, reflecting a common trend in smaller Japanese railway stations. In fiscal year 2011, the station recorded an average of 234 daily passengers.
