Wajiki Station (和食駅, Wajiki-eki) is conveniently situated in the charming village of Geisei, within the Aki District of Kōchi Prefecture, Japan. Although unstaffed, the station offers essential amenities such as parking and a bike shed, making it a practical stop for both local commuters and visitors exploring the scenic region. However, travelers should note that the station is not accessible, with steps leading to the platforms.
Railway Lines
The station is an integral part of the Tosa Kuroshio Railway's Asa Line, also known as the Gomen-Nahari Line, and is identified by the station number "GN31". It is located 18.2 km from Gomen Station, serving as a key link in the local railway network. The station features two side platforms and two tracks, built on an embankment, facilitating smooth train operations.
Station History
The current Wajiki Station officially opened its doors on July 1, 2002, bringing modern rail service to the area. Interestingly, this is not the first railway station to bear the name Wajiki in this location. A previous station, also named Wajiki, operated as part of the Tosa Electric Railway Aki Line until its closure on April 1, 1974. The current station continues this legacy, connecting the community to the wider region.

While the station itself is unstaffed, its availability of parking and bicycle facilities makes it a good starting point for exploring the area by car or bike.
