Station History

Wachi Station opened its doors on August 25, 1910, and has been serving the community for over a century. Historically, some express trains stopped here during the JNR era, and later, some limited express trains made stops in the mornings and evenings for commuters. However, these limited express stops were discontinued after March 11, 2011. Despite this change, the station remains staffed and continues to be an important local transport link, handling an average of 176 daily passengers in FY 2023.
