Station History

Tsurugaoka Station first opened its doors in 1938. Over its history, it has been known by previous names, including Hanwa Tsurugaoka and Nankai Tsurugaoka, the latter of which was used until 1944. Originally, the platforms and tracks were located on the ground level in Yamasaka Gochome, Higashisumiyoshi-ku, before their current configuration.
