Station History

Opened on December 11, 1889, Tosu Station is one of the oldest existing stations in Kyushu, dating back to the opening of the original Kyushu Railway. It underwent a significant rebuilding in July 1903, further solidifying its role as a key railway facility. With a daily boarding count of 5,207 in FY2022, it ranks 26th among JR Kyushu stations, reflecting its continued importance.
