Tendō Station (天童駅, Tendō-eki) is conveniently located in the city of Tendō, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. As a key transportation hub, it provides easy access to the surrounding area and is a gateway for exploring the region's attractions. Railway Lines
This important station is a stop on both the Yamagata Shinkansen and the Ōu Main Line (also known as the Yamagata Line). The Yamagata Shinkansen connects Tendō to major cities like Tokyo, while the Ōu Main Line offers regional connections. It is situated 100.4 km from Fukushima, with Sakurambo-Higashine as the preceding station towards Shinjō on the Shinkansen, and Tendō-Minami towards Fukushima. On the Yamagata Line, Midaregawa is the preceding station towards Shinjō.
Station History
Tendō Station has a long history, having first opened its doors to passengers on August 23, 1901. Over its more than 120 years of operation, it has evolved to accommodate modern rail travel, including the integration of Shinkansen services. The station features one island platform and one side platform, serving a total of three tracks.
