Location & Access
Takaoka Station (高岡駅, Takaoka-eki) is a conveniently located city tram station in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. It serves as a vital transportation hub, providing easy access to the bustling shopping district situated between Katahara-machi and Otaya Avenue. The station's strategic placement also ensures seamless transfers to the main Takaoka Station, which is served by JR West and Ainokaze Toyama Railway lines.
Railway Lines
This station is exclusively part of the Manyosen Takaoka Kidō Line, a popular city tram service that connects key areas within Takaoka. While it doesn't host JR or Ainokaze Toyama Railway platforms directly, its close proximity and integrated design with the main Takaoka Station make it an essential interchange point for travelers looking to explore the city and beyond.
Station History
The station underwent a significant transformation on March 29, 2014. Prior to this date, it was known as Takaoka-Eki-mae Station (高岡駅前駅, Takaoka-eki-mae-eki) and its platform was located on the street outside the main station building. The relocation involved moving the platform to the first (ground) floor of the "curun Takaoka" Building (also known as "Krun Takaoka" or "Krung Takaoka"), which is directly attached to the main Takaoka Station. This move enhanced convenience and integration for passengers.
