Station History
Opened on September 10, 1989, the station was originally named Nakamura Kuyakusho Station (中村区役所駅). This name reflected its proximity to the Nakamura Ward Office. However, following the relocation of the ward office, the station was officially renamed Taikō-dōri Station on January 4, 2023. The new name is derived from the Taikō-dōri main street, which itself is named after the Taikō area, a tribute to the historical figure Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who originated from the Owari region.
