Station History
Tachihi Station officially opened its doors on November 27, 1998. Interestingly, it was initially planned and constructed under the name "Izumi Station," reflecting the local place name. However, its name was changed to Tachihi due to the extensive presence of the Tachihi Group (including Tachihi Enterprise and Shin Tachikawa Aircraft) in the area surrounding the station. In response to local development, including the LaLaport Tachikawa Tachihi mall, the station underwent a major renovation. On October 15, 2015, the South Exit was opened, alongside the addition of escalators and stairs, with the original ticket gate becoming the North Exit. Station staff duties are entrusted to Keio Facilities Services, part of the Keio Group.
