The station is operated by the private railway company Nankai Electric Railway and is a key stop on the Nankai Main Line. It is located 13.8 km from Namba, a major transportation hub in Osaka. Station History
Suwanomori Station opened its doors on December 20, 1907, initially under the name Kitahamadera until 1908. Its historical significance is highlighted by the former station building on the Namba-bound side, which is registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property. This former building was also selected as one of the "100 Stations of Kinki" (Kinki no Eki Hyakusen) in its 4th edition, though it is no longer in use.
