Station History

Shirahama Station first opened its doors on December 20, 1933, initially under the name Shirahamaguchi. It was later renamed Shirahama in 1965. The line serving the station was electrified in 1978, enhancing its operational capabilities. In fiscal year 2019, the station recorded an average of 709 daily passengers, highlighting its importance to the region.
