Railway Lines
This station is a key junction for two important lines operated by the West Japan Railway Company (JR West): the Geibi Line and the Fukuen Line. On the Geibi Line, it serves as a stop between Kamisugi (towards Hiroshima) and Shimowachi (towards Niimi). For the Fukuen Line, Mirasaka is the preceding station towards Fukuyama. Station History
Shiomachi Station first opened its doors on April 22, 1930. Interestingly, it was originally known by the name Takō until 1934, when it adopted its current designation. With two tracks and a single island platform, the station has served the local community for decades, facilitating travel and commerce.
