Station History
Opened on December 3, 1900, Shin-Yamaguchi Station has a rich history. Until 2003, it was known as Ogōri Station (小郡駅). Its current name reflects its significance as a modern gateway to Yamaguchi Prefecture, especially after the municipal merger in 2005. The station is staffed and includes a Midori no Madoguchi (ticket office), ensuring comprehensive passenger services.
