Before the timetable revision on October 30, 2021, it was common for half of the daytime trains to change their service type here, with trains bound for Gifu becoming local and those for Inuyama becoming express. Although regular trains do not typically originate or terminate here due to the lack of crossovers or sidings, special express services to Inuyama sometimes run from Shin Naka during events like the Air Festival at Gifu Air Base.
Station History
Shin Naka Station first opened its doors on January 21, 1926, under the name Kagamino. Over the years, it has evolved to meet the changing needs of the region. The station also previously housed the Naka Depot (那加車庫), which played a significant role in the railway's operations.
