Shibukawa Station (渋川駅, Shibukawa-eki) is a significant railway station situated in the city of Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. It serves as a central hub for the city, historically flourishing as a post town along the Mikuni Kaido. The station is conveniently located on the south bank of the Hirasawa River, a tributary of the Tone River. Notably, Shibukawa Station is recognized as the closest station to the renowned Ikaho Onsen and serves as a primary base for exploring the scenic Mount Haruna, even bearing the sub-name "Ikaho Onsen/Lake Haruna Entrance" (伊香保温泉・榛名湖口).
Railway Lines
The station is operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and also handles freight services by JR Freight. Shibukawa Station is a junction point for two vital lines: the Joetsu Line and the Agatsuma Line. Travelers can connect from Shin-Maebashi towards Ueno on the Joetsu Line, or head towards Nagaoka via Shikishima. For those venturing into the scenic Agatsuma region, trains depart towards Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi via Kusatsu Nakanojō, and towards Ōmae via Kanashima. The station features one side platform and one island platform, accommodating three tracks.

Shibukawa Station officially opened its doors on July 1, 1921, making it over a century old.
