Seki-Shiyakushomae Station is situated in Shimo-Uchi, Seki City, Gifu Prefecture. Its name, "Shiyakushomae," literally translates to "in front of the city hall," indicating its convenient location near the Seki City Hall, making it a practical stop for local residents and visitors conducting municipal business.
Railway Lines
The station is exclusively served by the Etsumi-Nan Line, operated by the Nagaragawa Railway. This single-tracked, non-electrified rural line stretches 72.1 km, connecting Mino-Ōta Station in Minokamo with Hokunō Station in Gujō. The Nagaragawa Railway is the sole operator of this line, utilizing various DMU series for its services.
Station History
Seki-Shiyakushomae Station was established as a replacement for the Meitetsu Mino-Machi Line's Shimo-Uchi Station, which ceased operations on March 31, 1999. Although it serves as a successor, the new station is located approximately 800 meters in a straight line from the former Shimo-Uchi Station site.
