Sanuki-Aioi Station is situated in Higashikagawa, Kagawa Prefecture, marking the easternmost railway station within Kagawa Prefecture. While unstaffed, it serves as a crucial point on the Kōtoku Line, connecting passengers to various destinations. The station features two side platforms, linked by a footbridge, though it is not accessible for all.

The station is an integral part of the JR Shikoku Kōtoku Line, identified by the station number T09. It is located 47.6 km from Takamatsu. Notably, the section immediately east of Sanuki-Aioi Station, towards Awa-Ōmiya Station, presents a significant challenge for trains. This 5 km stretch involves a steep gradient over the Ōsaka Pass, known as the most difficult section of the Kōtoku Line.

Sanuki-Aioi Station opened its doors on March 20, 1935, making it a historic landmark on the Kōtoku Line. For over 90 years, it has facilitated travel and connectivity for the local community and beyond. Despite its unstaffed status, it continues to play a role in the regional railway network.
