Station History
Sakurazaka Station opened its doors on February 3, 2005. Its distinctive station symbol, depicting seven pink cherry blossom petals fluttering in the wind, was completed by graphic designer Masayuki Nishijima. He based it on an original draft by his father, Isao Nishijima, who designed symbols for other Fukuoka subway lines but passed away in 2001. The station's identification color is a bright purplish-red, shared with Tenjin-Minami and Umebayashi stations. The station is managed by Tenjin-Minami Station, with JR Kyushu Service Support handling daily operations.
