Sakiyama Station is a passenger railway station situated in the town of Miyako, within Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. The station is conveniently located for local residents and serves as a gateway to the surrounding area. As an unstaffed station, travelers should be aware that ticket services or assistance may not be readily available on-site.
Railway Lines
The station is operated by the third-sector railway operator Heisei Chikuhō Railway and is a stop on the Tagawa Line. It is positioned 12.4 kilometers from Yukuhashi Station. The preceding station is Saigawa (towards Yukuhashi) and the following station is Genjiinomori (towards Tagawa-Ita). The station features two side platforms and an at-grade structure, making it easily accessible.
Station History
Sakiyama Station officially opened its doors on August 11, 1956. A notable period in its history occurred on April 1, 2009, when an advertising agency, Planning Advertising Cooperative Association, acquired naming rights. This led to the station being temporarily known as Reimeiken.com Sakiyama Station. However, as of April 2022, the naming rights contract has concluded, and the station has reverted to its original name, Sakiyama Station.
