Ritsurinkōen Kitaguchi Station is strategically located in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, offering convenient access to the northern part of the city. As its name suggests, it is the closest station to the northern entrance of the magnificent Ritsurin Garden, one of Japan's most celebrated historical gardens. The station itself is unstaffed and features a single side platform, accessible via steps. While there is no dedicated parking for cars, bicycle facilities are available under the elevated structure, making it a good option for cyclists exploring the area.

The station is operated by JR Shikoku and is part of the Kōtoku Line, identified by the station number T26. It is situated 3.2 km (2.0 mi) from Takamatsu Station, making it an easy commute for those traveling to or from the city center. The preceding station on the line is Shōwachō (T27) towards Takamatsu, and the following station is Ritsurin (T25) towards Tokushima. Note that the Uzushio limited express service does not stop at Ritsurinkōen Kitaguchi Station.

Despite its unstaffed status, it served a significant number of passengers, with an average of 928 daily users recorded in FY2019, highlighting its importance for local residents and tourists visiting Ritsurin Garden.
