Station History
Opened in 1923, Ōsaka Abenobashi Station has a rich history, initially known as Ōsaka Tennōji until 1924. A significant modernization occurred on March 20, 2009, when the west ticket gates were relocated 35 meters east. This strategic move integrated the station facilities entirely within the Kintetsu Abeno department store's new building, with the old western section making way for new development. In 2012, it recorded an impressive 159,075 daily passengers, highlighting its status as the busiest station on the Kintetsu Lines.
