Station History
Okaji Station was established relatively recently, opening its doors on March 15, 1987. This coincided with the third-sector privatization of the former JNR Futamata Line, which then became the Tenryū Hamanako Line. Interestingly, the station was known by a different name, Kigakōkōmae, until 2015, before adopting its current designation. In fiscal year 2017, the station recorded an average of 24 daily passengers, highlighting its local importance.
