Location & Access
Naka-Shimminato Station is situated in Himeno, Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. This strategically located station lies close to the boundary between Takaoka City and Imizu City, making it a convenient access point for the central urban area of Imizu's Shinminato district (formerly Shinminato City). Until 2021, it was recognized as a representative station for Imizu City in the JTB timetable, highlighting its importance to the local community.
Railway Lines
The station is served by the Manyosen tram line, an electric railway operated by Manyosen Co, Ltd. The Manyosen line, which literally translates to "Manyo Line," is a third-sector railway connecting various points within Takaoka and Imizu. The line spans 12.9 km (8.0 mi) with a track gauge of 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) and operates on 600V DC overhead catenary electrification. The Manyosen company's head office, depot, and maintenance facility are conveniently located adjacent to the Yonejimaguchi tram stop.
