Station History
Motoyoshi Station first opened its doors on February 11, 1957, serving as a vital link for local communities. It was operated by JR East and featured a single side platform. The station's railway operations ceased on March 11, 2011, due to the extensive damage caused by the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Subsequently, it was re-established as a BRT stop, continuing to provide essential public transport services to the region. Historically, during its railway era, Motoyoshi Station marked the southernmost point within the jurisdiction of JR East's Morioka Branch.
