Mochigase Station officially opened its doors on December 20, 1919. Historically, it was a stop for express trains. Today, although regular limited express trains do not stop here, some limited express services make a special temporary stop on the 3rd day of the 3rd month of the old calendar, specifically for the renowned "Nagashibina" doll-floating festival, which significantly boosts its local fame.
