Mirozu Station (見老津駅, Mirozu-eki) is nestled in the town of Susami, within the Nishimuro District of Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Operated by the West Japan Railway Company (JR West), this unstaffed station offers a quiet gateway to the surrounding coastal beauty. Its coordinates are 33°30′56.2″N 135°34′31.95″E.
Railway Lines
The station is a stop on the W Kisei Main Line, also known as the Kinokuni Line. It is situated 245.0 km from Kameyama and 64.8 km from Shingū. Mirozu Station features one island platform with two tracks. Due to the significant distance of approximately 10 km between Mirozu Station and the neighboring Susami Station, the Futagoyama Signal Box (双子山信号場) was established between them to manage train movements efficiently.
Station History
Mirozu Station first opened its doors to passengers on September 7, 1938. The line serving the station was electrified in 1978, enhancing its operational capabilities. As of FY2019, the station recorded an average of 12 daily passengers, highlighting its role as a local access point rather than a major hub.

As an unstaffed station, travelers should be aware that there are no personnel on site to assist with tickets or inquiries. It's advisable to check train schedules in advance, especially since services are local. The preceding station is Esumi (towards Kushimoto and Shingū) and the following station is Susami (towards Kii-Tanabe and Wakayama).
